Traits change damage, SPA, or range. A summon or a portal unit can arrive with one. New units have a 1% chance to gain a trait, and 1% of those trait results are a double trait. Rerolls have a separate 0.2% chance to land two traits. When that happens, the percentages add. Double Superior III is the published example of a 30% damage boost.
Where to roll
Teleport with the Traits and Evolve shortcut, or walk to the Ethereal Guide outside the Evolve area.
| Unit rarity | Star Remnant cost | Reroll Token cost |
|---|---|---|
| Rare, Epic, Legendary | 1 | 1 |
| Mythic or Secret (the wiki says Mythical) | 5 | 1 |
Star Remnants come from the Travelling Merchant, Daily Challenges, removing a shiny with Lucil, a Star Golem in the latest Infinite mode, and a 0.25% summon drop. Reroll Tokens come from battle passes, evolution quests, events, or the Robux shop. The listed shop prices are 129 R$ for 1, 999 R$ for 10, and 4500 R$ for 50.
If a Legendary evolves into a Mythic and keeps its trait, roll the Legendary form. That roll costs 1 remnant instead of 5. The page names Fox Ninja (Beast Cloak), Usurper, Martial Demon, Gene, and Experiment X (Semi-Perfect) as units that benefit.
What to keep
The tier list on this site is an editing aid, not an official rank. It uses the published average DPS numbers for a damage unit that can already reach the path, and it scores Unique as a one-placement unit.
Keep Unique on a unit you place once or twice. The single-body gain is listed at 344.4%. At a placement cap of 5 or 6, the same trait lowers group damage, and you can place only one copy.
Keep Divine on a unit you place four or more times, or on a support that wants many bodies. Its listed package is 20% damage, 10% less SPA, and 20% range, about +33.3% DPS.
Keep Celestial when the mode cares about true damage or resistances. Keep Golden on Bulby or C.E.O. for the 20% Yen clause. Weather Girl (Thief) does not get that Yen clause.
Godspeed is the 20% SPA cut, about +25% DPS, and it is the one to keep on a slow unit. Reaper is the boss trait: 15% damage in general, and a much larger listed gain against bosses. Superior III is the common damage stop, at 15%.
Range, Sniper, and Adept are keeps only for a stated job: covering a path, extending a support aura, or leveling a unit. They are not damage traits.
A practical stop rule
Roll a keeper you will still use after the next evolution. Stop on Unique, Divine, Celestial, or Golden when the unit matches the case above. Stop on Godspeed for a slow damage unit. Stop on Superior III if remnants are tight and the unit is not a long-term carry. The calculator on this site only multiplies the chance you type. It does not know whether the live game has pity.
